Message from the Summit Chair

Dasho VC

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the RUB Ideas Summit, organised as part of the inaugural RUB Annual Faculty Meet—a flagship initiative of the Royal University of Bhutan.

The Annual Faculty Meet is conceived as a unifying institutional platform where the entire faculty of the University comes together to reflect, connect, and collectively shape the future of our University. For the inaugural edition, we have chosen the theme “A Hundred IDEAS Summit – Inspiring Development, Excellence and Academic Success”, with a clear and ambitious intent: to generate one hundred concrete, actionable ideas to strengthen and transform our University.

The Ideas Summit is founded on a simple but powerful belief—that the collective wisdom, creativity, and experience of our faculty is our greatest asset. Across our colleges lie deep insights into what works well, what needs improvement, and what new possibilities we can imagine for teaching, research, innovation, governance, and global engagement. This Summit provides a structured yet open space to bring those ideas together.

Over the course of the Summit, faculty members work in diverse, inter-college groups to identify real challenges, propose innovative solutions, and articulate ideas that are both aspirational and feasible for implementation. You will not only generate ideas but refine them through dialogue, peer feedback, and collective assessment—ensuring that the most promising ideas can be taken forward for further development and implementation.

Equally important, the Summit is about people. It is an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from across the University, to build new professional relationships, and to foster a stronger sense of shared identity and purpose as members of the Royal University of Bhutan. In bringing together faculty from all RUB colleges, including our affiliated colleges, we reaffirm our commitment to collaboration, mutual respect, and collective progress.

As the Summit Chair, I warmly welcome every faculty member to this milestone event, hosted by the College of Science and Technology in Phuentsholing, and invite you to engage fully with curiosity, openness, and a spirit of contribution. The success of this inaugural Annual Faculty Meet will set the tone for future editions, which will continue to evolve in theme and format as colleges take turns to host and shape the event.”

I look forward to meeting all of you at the Summit soon.

A Special Message from the Chair

Message from the President,
College of Science and Technology

President

Kuzu Zangpo La.

I am delighted to warmly welcome senior management from the Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC) and faculty members from all Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) colleges to the 1st Annual Faculty Meet, to be held from 2nd till 4th  February 2026 at the College of Science and Technology (CST).

This gathering marks a truly historic milestone for RUB. For the first time, we come together as one unified academic community with a shared ambition: to generate 100 actionable ideas that will shape the future of our university. These ideas will guide how we teach and learn, how we conduct research, how we innovate, and how we serve our nation in the years ahead.

At the heart of any great university are its faculty members. Your scholarship, experience, and insight are the driving forces of institutional excellence. This Faculty Meet offers a valuable opportunity to step away from routine responsibilities, engage in meaningful dialogue across disciplines, and think boldly and creatively about what RUB can become.

We at the CST are deeply honored to host this important event. Guided by the principles of academic excellence and Gross National Happiness, we are committed to providing an environment that fosters open dialogue, creativity, and genuine collaboration.

I warmly invite all RUB faculty members to participate actively, share your ideas, and contribute to shaping the future direction of our university. Together, let us envision and build a stronger, more innovative, and more impactful RUB.

I look forward to welcoming you to CST on 1st February 2026.

Tashi Delek.
