Educational Relay Race: An Evening of Learning and Camaraderie

In the evening of the first day of our Annual Faculty Meet, the host college conducted an educational relay race, a race designed to foster healthy competition, integrate academic knowledge with physical activity, and encourage interdisciplinary learning. It was a race that involved both intellectual problem-solving and physical activity, fostering teamwork and creating a competitive yet enjoyable environment. From 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, participants engaged in physical exercises blended with academic challenges, making learning both engaging and interactive, while others cheered for their teams.

This education relay race was designed to assess participants’ knowledge across multiple disciplines including language, mathematics, general knowledge, and University’s mission, vision, and core values. Each participating college was represented by a team of five members. The race commenced from the chemistry laboratory and concluded in-front of the conventional hall, covering a total of five stations. At each station, participants completed tasks such as problem-solving exercises, quiz-based questions, puzzle-solving, and short analytical challenges, ensuring an equal emphasis on mental agility, teamwork, and strategic coordination. 

They reported that they greatly enjoyed the event, despite experiencing physical exhaustion. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various colleges and was smoothly coordinated, ensuring fairness and strict adherence to the rules. Participants shared that they had prepared adequately and adopted strategic planning to complete the race successfully. Several participants also highlighted that the knowledge gained during the race enhanced their sportsmanship and deepened their awareness of the university’s mission, vision, and objectives. Overall, they expressed optimism and anticipation for positive and meaningful outcomes from such initiatives. 

The Educational Relay Race proved to be highly effective in encouraging peer learning, time management, team work and communication skills. Participants demonstrated a strong sense of teamwork, healthy competition, and academic curiosity. The winner of the educational relay race will be announced on Day Three, the final day of the Annual Faculty Meet.
