As part of the RUB Annual Faculty Meet 2026, A Hundred Ideas Summit, the World Café: Cross-Pollination of Ideas session created a vibrant space for collective thinking and meaningful dialogue under the theme Inspiring Development, Excellence and Academic Success.”

Faculty members from different colleges and staff from the Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC), RUB, came together in a dynamic, rotating discussion format that encouraged openness, curiosity, and collaboration. Through eight structured rounds, participants moved across tables, engaging with diverse ideas while hosts remained to share concepts, capture feedback, and refine insights in real time.

The interactive nature of the session effectively tapped into the collective intelligence of the participants. For several groups that were still deliberating between competing ideas, feedback from peers helped clarify priorities, validate assumptions, and support informed decision-making. For others, affirming responses strengthened confidence in their chosen direction and reinforced the relevance and feasibility of their proposals. The process of collective sense-making encouraged cross-pollination of ideas, challenged initial assumptions, and contributed significantly to refining concepts.

Conversations throughout the session were energetic, focused, and purposeful, with participants offering constructive feedback and fresh perspectives. The exchange fostered strong cross-college collaboration, broke down institutional silos, and enabled practical, implementation-oriented ideas to emerge organically.

Overall, the World Café stood out for its high level of engagement, shared ownership of ideas, and the strong sense of collegiality it inspired, demonstrating the power of collaborative dialogue in advancing innovation, academic excellence, and institutional development within the Royal University of Bhutan.
